Freedom And Innovation Revitalizing
ECA joins the Consumer Electronics Association, the American Library Association, the American Association of Law Libraries, the Association of Research Libraries, the Special Libraries Association, the Home Recording Rights Coalition, the Computer & Communications Industry Association, and other organizations representing the public interest and the consumers of digital media to support bi-partisan House Bill (HB) 1201, the Freedom And Innovation Revitalizing U.S. Entrepreneurship (FAIR USE) Act of 2007, which would promote innovation, encourage the introduction of new technology, enhance library preservation efforts, and protect the fair use rights of consumers. ECA has been closely monitoring the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA). Here's a letter that ECA along with some of it's non-profit partner sent in opposition to portions of ACTA and here's a letter sent by Senators Leahy and Specter to the USTR regard ACTA.
